Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of having a stall at the Chichester Craft & Gift Market, held in the Assembly Rooms right in the heart of Chichester’s vibrant shops.
Although this was my first time having a stall there, I’d visited the market last year to check it out and it felt like a great fit for my products, so I booked a spot for Saturday.
The organisers, Mynt Image, were absolutely lovely—helpful, friendly, and welcoming, which always makes the day smoother. After unloading and setting up, I grabbed a tea from the pop-up café just in time for the doors to open.
Within the first 15 minutes, I made two sales selling four items, which was a promising start. Unfortunately, as the day went on, sales slowed down. Many of us vendors suspected it was due to the Bank Holiday weekend—people were likely away or soaking up the sunshine at the beach.

One highlight of the day was taking a special order for a birthday card from a lovely lady. She shared that her step-mum is turning 101 in June and still has boundless energy! Her secret? Always looking forward in life. What a beautiful, uplifting perspective—I feel honoured to create a card for such a remarkable woman.
For now, I haven’t booked any more markets as I’m focusing on designing new products for my shop. I lay in bed dreaming of colours and designs, no wonder I can’t sleep at times. But I’ll definitely be exploring more market opportunities later this year.

Saturday was a great experience overall. I met some wonderful customers and fellow stallholders. Events like these are such a lovely way to connect with the community and see firsthand how people respond to your creations. So please do go and support your local crafting community at these events; it’s true, they really DO do a happy dance when you buy from them.
